License Suspension

The Department of Drivers Services is responsible for issuing and suspending driver’s licenses.  There are a variety of situations that can trigger a license suspension. For example a conviction for DUI, drug possession, fleeing and eluding the police, or the failure to pay child support, cancellation of insurance, an accumulation of points, or the failure to pay a traffic ticket can all trigger a license suspension.

Driving on a suspended license is an offense that also has mandatory jail time and fines.  Eventually driving on a suspended can even be a felony offense. License suspensions can be of varying lengths, from a few days, to up to 5 years or even lifetime disqualification, depending upon the offense severity and type of license.   If faced with this type of loss, you need to have experienced legal counsel to defend your case.  Our attorneys can help you avoid the suspension or minimize its effect.  If the suspension cannot be avoided our lawyers will guide you through the process to receive a limited permit to allow you to drive to work or assist you in getting your full license reinstated.
